Programme Officer MSMEs position with the African Union Development Agency
The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) is looking for passionate and qualified individuals from African Union Member States to apply for the Programme Officer MSMEs position.
About the Role: As a Programme Officer MSMEs, you’ll be at the heart of the AUDA-NEPAD 100,000 MSME Initiative, working alongside project teams, technical experts, and consultants across Member States to bring this important initiative to life.
What You’ll Need:
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other essential computer applications.
- Development Expertise: A solid understanding of development issues and administrative management.
- Proposal Writing & Resource Mobilization: Experience in these areas is a bonus.
- Problem Solver: Able to spot challenges and help create effective solutions.
- Great Listener: You’ll need strong listening skills to understand and support the needs of African MSMEs.
- Detail-Oriented: Precision and attention to detail are crucial in this role.
- Independent & Initiative-Driven: You’ll be expected to work independently, think on your feet, and make sound decisions.
- Integrity & Enthusiasm: We value integrity, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Resource Management: You should be able to maximize impact with limited resources.
- Multi-tasker: Able to juggle multiple tasks while collaborating with people from various backgrounds.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills are a must.
- International Experience: Experience in a multicultural, multinational setting, especially with the AU or other international organizations, is a plus.
- Development Insight: A good grasp of Africa’s development priorities and relevant theories.
- Research Savvy: Familiarity with research methods and electronic databases.

Your Background:
- A Bachelor’s degree in fields like Business Management, Economics, Project Management, Procurement, Computer Science, or something similar.
- At least one year of experience in project management, international finance, or international development, particularly in the public sector, multilateral institutions, or international NGOs.
