East African Community Youth Fellowship 2024 for Young East Africans
Exciting News! Applications are now open for the 2024 EAC Youth Fellowship. This fellowship is a fantastic opportunity for young people passionate about regional integration and leadership within the East African Community (EAC).
If you’re eager to shape the future of our region, this is your chance to get involved!
The EAC Youth Fellowship is all about unlocking the potential of young leaders. It offers mentorship, capacity-building activities, and networking opportunities, all aimed at nurturing the next generation of leaders committed to regional cooperation and development.
This fellowship is a collaborative effort, designed by several organizations dedicated to youth empowerment: MS TCDC through its Africa Youth Leadership Program (YouLead Africa), the East Africa Community Secretariat, the Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete Foundation (with YouLead Africa’s patron as the founder), the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (JNLC), and the Emerging Leaders Foundation.

The fellowship will focus on two key areas:
- Youth in Politics: Exploring how we can reinvent and deepen youth leadership in public sector governance.
- Youth in Business: Enhancing opportunities for young entrepreneurs and creating a business environment that supports youth-friendly policies.
Are You Eligible?
To apply for the EAC Youth Fellowship, you need to meet these criteria:
- Be aged between 18-35 years.
- Be a citizen of one of the East African Community Partner States and currently residing in one of those states.
- Hold at least a bachelor’s degree.
- Show understanding or experience in regional integration, leadership, business, economic governance, or related fields.
