About Deakin University Scholarships 2025-2026
The Deakin University Scholarships are fully funded opportunities for international students pursuing postgraduate studies.
These scholarships offer a generous stipend of $34,400 per year, a relocation allowance ranging from $500 to $1,500, and health insurance coverage.
There are two types of scholarships available: the RTP scholarships, funded by the Australian Government, and the DUPR scholarships, funded by Deakin University.
Both scholarships are open to domestic and international students, but only top-ranked applicants will be offered an RTP.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Language Requirement: English
- Eligible Countries: All countries
- Enrollment: Must be enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) course at Deakin University
- Additional Eligibility for RTP Fees Offset: Applicants must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship designed to offset HDR fees
- Additional Eligibility for RTP or DUPRS Stipend: Applicants must not receive income from another source that supports living costs greater than 75% of the RTP or DUPRS Stipend rate

For Doctoral Degree Applicants:
- Completion of a research project, including a thesis equivalent to at least 25% of a full-time year of study at Level 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualifications Framework with a grade equivalent to Deakin’s 70% or higher
- Or a Master’s Degree (Research) in a related area
For Master Degree Applicants:
- Completion of a research project, including a thesis equivalent to at least 25% of a full-time year of study at Level 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualifications Framework with a grade equivalent to Deakin’s 65% or higher
