Join the 2025 Climate Resilience & Food Security in Africa Fellowship! If you’re an entrepreneur passionate about making a difference, this program is your chance to gain the tools and support needed to tackle climate resilience and food security across Africa.

What’s in Store for You?

As a selected fellow, you’ll be part of a dynamic group of innovators, gaining access to expert training, resources, and two unforgettable weeks—one in Washington, DC, and another in Nairobi, Kenya—where you’ll connect, learn, and grow.

How It Works:

  • Selection: Up to 10 ventures that are making an impact in any African country will be chosen.
  • Training: You’ll learn through Halcyon’s tried-and-true methods on product-market fit, investment readiness, and leadership.
  • Program Details:
    • A virtual kickoff meeting to set the stage
    • A one-week residency in Nairobi, Kenya, to dive deep into your work
    • Monthly virtual check-ins to keep the momentum going
    • A one-week residency in Washington, DC, to broaden your network and horizons

What We’re Looking For:

We’re on the lookout for startups that are not only for-profit but also scalable and focused on solving some of Africa’s biggest challenges in climate resilience and food security.

  • Location: Your venture should be based in or serve any African country.
  • Stage: You should have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) ready to scale and be dedicated full-time to your venture.
  • Team:
    • You can apply with a co-founder.
    • You must be the CEO or the key decision-maker.
    • You need to be fluent in English and at least 21 years old by the program’s start.
  • Engagement: Be ready to fully participate in all aspects of the program.
  • Impact: Your venture should align with one or more of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

How We Choose:

We’ll evaluate applications based on the impact of your venture, its scalability, the innovation you bring to the table, and the talent driving it.

  • August 27, 2024: Applications open
  • October 11, 2024: Applications close
  • December 2024: Finalists will pitch virtually
  • January 2025: Selected fellows announced
  • February 7, 2025 (tentative): Virtual program kickoff
  • February 17-21, 2025: Residency week in Nairobi, Kenya
  • March 20, April 10, and May 8, 2025: Monthly virtual meetings
  • June 2-6, 2025: Residency week in Washington, DC
