University of Cambridge Graduate Scholarship 2025 in the UK
Applications are now open for two fully funded 3.5-year PhD studentships at the University of Cambridge in the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, under the supervision of Dr. Alexander Forse.
The first project focuses on creating advanced supercapacitors for improved electrochemical energy storage, while the second aims to develop cost-effective materials to capture carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere. Both projects are part of Dr. Forse’s research, which centers on innovative materials to address climate change.
Project Highlights
- Project 1: Develops enhanced electrode materials for supercapacitors, building on recent findings about how disorder in materials can boost energy storage.
- Project 2: Explores new, affordable carbon capture materials using activated charcoal, designed to remove CO₂ from the air.
The scholarship includes a yearly maintenance stipend of £19,237 (2024/25 rates) and covers tuition fees at the UK/home rate.
