University of Pecs Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship 2025

The University of Pécs Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship is a prestigious, fully funded opportunity provided by the Government of Hungary. Every year, this scholarship enables hundreds of international students to study at the University of Pécs.

Launched in 2013 as part of Hungary’s “Eastern and Southern Opening” policy, the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme is managed by the Tempus Public Foundation.

Its mission is to attract more international students to Hungary and strengthen the global presence of Hungarian higher education. Currently, 94 countries participate in the program, sending their students to study in Hungary.

The University of Pécs Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship provides full coverage of tuition fees, accommodation, healthcare, and a monthly stipend of HUF 120,000 to support living expenses.

Scholarship Benefits

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship covers the following:

• Tuition-Free Education: No tuition fees for the duration of the program.
• Monthly Stipend:
  • Non-degree, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and one-tier Master’s students receive HUF 43,700 per month to cover living expenses, available for 12 months each year until completion.
  • Doctoral students receive HUF 140,000 per month for living expenses, available for 12 months each year until completion.
• Accommodation: Dormitory placement or a monthly contribution of HUF 40,000 towards accommodation.
• Medical Insurance: Coverage includes Hungarian national health insurance and supplementary insurance of up to HUF 65,000 per year per person.

Application Process

To apply for the University of Pécs Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship:

1. Submit an application via the Tempus Public Foundation’s online application system.
2. Choose the University of Pécs as your top priority.
3. Register in the system with your personal details, ensuring that your citizenship is accurate to view eligible study programs.
4. Write down your unique applicant access code and keep it safe.
5. Log in using your access code.
6. Select your study program by specifying:
   • Institution: University of Pécs
   • Study Level: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral
   • Study Mode: Full-degree or partial/exchange studies
   • Language of Study: English
7. You can apply to up to two study programs, ranking them as first and second choices.
