About the UNOY Internship
The United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY) is a youth-led network of over 130 organizations dedicated to building more peaceful societies.
UNOY values peace, diversity, inclusion, and meaningful participation, empowering young people to shape the future.
As an intern with UNOY, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the peacebuilding field, collaborate with an international team, develop new skills, and connect with young people and organizations worldwide.
You will also have the chance to define your learning goals and progress with support from a dedicated supervisor throughout the internship.

Position: Communications Officer Intern
As the Communications Officer Intern, you’ll work directly under the supervision of the Communications Lead and play a key role in advancing UNOY’s mission through impactful communications.
Your Responsibilities
Content Production
- Create and manage engaging visual and written content for UNOY’s website and social media channels.
- Commission and write compelling blog posts for the UNOY website.
- Produce and send a monthly newsletter to UNOY members and a biannual newsletter to external partners.
- Lead the coordination and production of the Peace Corner podcast, created by the intern team.
Strategic Development
- Assist in evaluating and improving UNOY’s organization-wide communications strategy.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of a new social media strategy.
- Support the web migration process and assist in web development and restructuring.
Advocacy and Outreach
- Monitor youth peace and security (YPS) developments, collaborating with the Advocacy team to align communications.
- Help align UNOY’s fundraising and communications efforts.
- Facilitate communications with external partners on collaborative projects and events.

Remuneration
While this position is unpaid, you will receive a stipend of 500 EUR per month to cover expenses.
Requirements for the UNOY Internship
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about peacebuilding, youth work, and communications.
- An excellent writer, proofreader, and editor (in English). Additional languages are a plus.
- Experienced in graphic design and video editing.
- Familiar with online communications and social media platforms.
- Proficient in WordPress, Zoho, and/or Canva (desirable).
- Organized with strong planning, communication, and intercultural skills.
- Creative, enthusiastic, and able to problem-solve.
- Flexible, independent, and a team player.
- Holds or is pursuing a higher education degree in youth, peace, conflict, international relations, or a related field. We also accept candidates in their final year of undergraduate studies.
