Exciting news! NVIDIA is now accepting applications for its twenty-fourth annual Graduate Fellowship Program. If you’re a PhD student with a groundbreaking research project, this could be your chance to shine.

What’s in it for You? The NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship Program offers financial support of up to $60,000 to PhD students whose research could lead to significant advancements in accelerated computing and related applications.

Are You Eligible? To be eligible, you need to:

  • Have completed your first year of PhD studies by the time you apply.
  • Be majoring in fields like Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a related area.
  • Be actively involved in research as part of your PhD thesis.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time PhD student during the 2025-2026 academic year (and not planning to graduate before May/June 2026).
  • Be available for a summer internship at one of NVIDIA’s research offices in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Israel, or Taiwan.
  • Not be an immediate family member of a current NVIDIA employee.

Please note: The fellowship funds will be managed by your university, with payments going directly to the institution.

How Will Your Application Be Evaluated? NVIDIA will evaluate your proposal based on:

  • The quality of your research
  • Your academic performance and achievements
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Your research results so far
  • The strength of your research proposal for the fellowship
  • Your publication track record
  • How your research aligns with NVIDIA’s primary domains
  • The potential impact of your work on future GPU design and performance

Ready to Apply? Here’s what you’ll need to submit:

  1. Research Summary/Thesis Proposal – Up to 2 pages, plus a bibliography (the bibliography doesn’t count toward the 2-page limit).
  2. Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV) – Including your contact information.
  3. Professor Nomination Letters – At least 2 letters (one must be from your thesis advisor), with a maximum of 3. Non-professor nominations are okay, as long as you have one from your thesis advisor/professor.
  4. Confirmation of Availability – For the in-person summer internship.

How to Apply:

  • Step 1: Create your student profile on the Submission Portal. You can return to the portal as often as needed before submitting your final application.
  • Step 2: Complete your application, including your research summary, thesis proposal, and resume (CV).
  • Step 3: Add your recommenders’ contact information. The system will automatically send them an email, so be sure to give them a heads-up! Don’t wait until the last minute to notify them.
  • Step 4: Keep an eye on the status of your recommendation letters in the portal. Don’t finalize your application until all recommendations have been uploaded. Remember, the deadline for recommendation letters is 3pm Pacific on September 11, 2024.

Final Submission Deadline:

  • Deadline: Submit your complete application by 3pm Pacific on September 13, 2024. It’s up to you to make sure all your materials, including recommendation letters, are submitted on time.
